MIDDLEWARE FOR THE INTERNET OF THINGS

    ABSTRACT

    The Internet of Things (IoT) connects everyday objects including a vast array of sensors, actuators, and Smart devices, referred to as “things” to the Internet, in an intelligent and pervasive fashion. This connectivity gives rise to the possibility of using the tracking capabilities of things to impinge on the location privacy of users. Most of the existing management and location privacy protection solutions do not consider the low-cost and low-power requirements of things; or, they do not account for the heterogeneity, scalability, or autonomy of communications supported in the IoT. Moreover, these traditional solutions do not consider the case where a user wishes to control the granularity of the disclosed information based on the context of their use (e.g. based on the time or the current location of the user). To fill this gap, a middleware, referred to as the Internet of Things Management Platform (IoT-MP) is proposed in this paper.

STUDY THE EFFECT OF PARAMETERS TO LOAD BALANCING IN CLOUD COMPUTING

    ABSTRACT

    The rapid growth of users on the cloud service and number of services to the user increases the load on the servers at cloud datacenter. This issue is becoming a challenge for the researchers. And requires used effectively a load balancing technique not only to balance the resources for servers but also reduce the negative impact to the end-user service. The current, load balancing techniques have solved the various problems such as: (i) load balancing after a server was overloaded; (ii) load balancing and load forecast for the allocation of resources; iii) improving the parameters affecting to load balancing in cloud. The study of improving these parameters have great significance to improving system performance through load balancing. From there, we can propose more effective methods of load balancing, in order to increase system performance. Therefore, in this paper we researched some parameters affecting the performance load balancing on the cloud computing.

PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS OF MULTI-PATH TCP NETWORK

    ABSTRACT

    MPTCP is proposed by IETF working group, it allows a single TCP stream to be split across multiple paths. It has obvious benefits in performance and reliability. MPTCP has implemented in Linux-based distributions that can be compiled and installed to be used for both real and experimental scenarios. In this article, we provide performance analyses for MPTCP with a laptop connected to WiFi access point and 3G cellular network at the same time. We prove experimentally that MPTCP outperforms regular TCP for WiFi or 3G interfaces. We also compare four types of congestion control algorithms for MPTCP that are also implemented in the Linux Kernel. Results show that Alias Linked Increase Congestion Control algorithm outperforms the others in the normal traffic load while Balanced Linked Adaptation algorithm outperforms the rest when the paths are shared with heavy traffic, which is not supported by MPTCP.

AN OPTIMAL FUZZY LOGIC SYSTEM FOR A NONLINEAR DYNAMIC SYSTEM USING A FUZZY BASIS FUNCTION

    ABSTRACT

    The impetus for this paper is the development of Fuzzy Basis Function “FBF” that assigns in an optimal fashion, a function approximation for a nonlinear dynamic system.A fuzzy basis function is applied to find the best location of the characteristic points by specifying the set of fuzzy rules.The advantage of this technique is that, it may produce a simple and well-performing system because it selects the most significant fuzzy basis functions to minimize an objective function in the output error for the fuzzy rules. The fuzzy basis function is a linguistic fuzzy IF_THEN rule. It provides a combination of the numerical information and the linguistic information in the form input-output pairs and in the form of fuzzy rules. The proposed control scheme is applied to a magnetic ball suspension system.

THE IMPACT OF NODE MISBEHAVIOR ON THE PERFORMANCE OF ROUTING PROTOCOLS IN MANET

    ABSTRACT

    MANET is a cooperative wireless network in which mobile nodes are responsible for routing and forwarding packets from and to other nodes. Noncooperation is a challenge that definitely degrades the performance of MANET. A misbehaving or selfish node may make use of other nodes in the network, but decline to share its own resources with them. These selfish nodes may severely affect the performance of routing protocols in MANET.

    In this paper, we compare the performance of four routing protocols under security attack of node misbehavior in MANET. We investigate AODV and DSR reactive routing protocols and OLSR and GRP proactive routing protocols using Riverbed Modeler simulator. The performance comparison is carried out using two types of misbehaving nodes. The metrics used are End-to-End delay, Packet Delivery Ratio, Data dropped and the Load. The experimental results show that AODV routing protocol performs better than the other routing protocols with higher packet delivery ratio. Further, OLSR routing protocol outperforms the other routing protocols with minimum End-to-End delay.
