COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF AHP AND FUZZY AHP MODELS FOR MULTICRITERIA INVENTORY CLASSIFICATION

    ABSTRACT

    A systematic approach to the inventory control and classification may have a significant influence on company competitiveness. In practice, all inventories cannot be controlled with equal attention. In order to efficiently control the inventory items and to determine the suitable ordering policies for them, multi criteria inventory classification is used. Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) is one of the best ways for deciding among the complex criteria structure in different levels. Fuzzy Analytical Hierarchy Process(FAHP) is a synthetic extension of classical AHP method when the fuzziness of the decision makers is considered. In this paper, a comparative analysis of AHP and FAHP for multi-criteria inventory classification model has been presented. To accredit the proposed models, those were implemented for the351 raw materials of switch gear section of Energypac Engineering Limited (EEL), a large power engineering company of Bangladesh..

    In this paper, we apply the concept of an interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy set to ideals and closed ideals in BG-algebras. The notion of an interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy closed ideal of a BG-algebra is introduced, and some related properties are investigated.     ABSTRACT

    The main purpose of this article is to present and explore potential applications in marketing administration related to pricing strategy using fuzzy logic. Considering the new trends in consumer behavior rin Brazil’s economy and the consistent growth of C and D social classes an application was developed by the authors to better understand and adjust pricing strategies: The Think Fuzzy System that combines fuzzy logic (COPPE Cosenza Model), and some other related strategic concepts, supported by mathematical microeconomic modeling, utility factor, indifference curves and an experiential hierarchic clustering model.

TL-IDEALS OF NEAR-RINGS

    ABSTRACT

    The aim of this paper is to introduce and study TL-sub near-rings, TL-ideals of near- rings and to obtain their characterizations. We define T-sum, T-difference, T-product of L-subsets of a near-ring R and obtain their properties. The set of TL-ideals of a near- ring R equipped with L-subset inclusion relation ≤constitutes a complete lattice with L- subset intersection as its meet is proved. The quotient near-ring (R/µ,+T, *) is obtained and proved that it is isomorphic to the quotient near-ring (R/Rµ,+T,*). Also we obtain some characterizations of homomorphism of TL-ideals of near-rings. Classification

    ABSTRACT

    In this paper we introduce Octagonal Intuitionistic fuzzy numbers with its membership and non membership functions. A new method is proposed for finding an optimal solution for intuitionistic fuzzy transportation problem, in which the costs are octagonal intuitionistic fuzzy numbers. The procedure is illustrated with a numerical example.

Each lecturer would use his/ her own mobile phone to use the proposed system to check the attendance of students instead of using manual method to register the attendance of students and the students’ ID cards that are detected by coming within range of the lecturer reader would represent present students, and missing student ID cards represent absent students

Application of Neuro-Fuzzy Expert System for the Probe and Prognosis of Thyroid Disorder

    ABSTRACT

    Thyroid disorders are common disorders of the thyroid gland. Thyroid disorders include such diseases and conditions as graves disease, thyroid nodules, Hashimoto's thyroiditis, trauma to the thyroid, thyroid cancer and birth defects. These include being born with a defective thyroid gland or without a thyroid gland. Thyroid disorder can be caused by hyperthyroidism, thyroid cancer, goiter, hyperparathyroidism and postpartum thyroiditis. Thyroid disorder are usually characterized by life threatening symptoms such as insomnia, irritability, nervousness, unexplained weight loss, heat sensitivity, increased perspiration, thinning of skin, warm skin, fine hair, brittle hair and thinning hair. Neuro-Fuzzy Logic explores approximation techniques from neural networks to finds the parameter of a fuzzy system. This paper which demonstrates the practical application of Information Technology (IT) in the health sector, has presented a hybrid neuro-fuzzy Expert System to help in diagnosis of thyroid disorder using a set of symptoms. The system designed is an interactive system that tells the patient his current condition as regards thyroid disorder

FUZZY MEASURES FOR STUDENTS’ MATHEMATICAL MODELLING SKILLS

    ABSTRACT

    MM is one of the central ideas in the nowadays mathematics education. In an earlier paper applying ideas from fuzzy logic we have developed a model formalizing the MM process and we have used the total possibilistic uncertainty as a measure of students’ MM capacities. In the present paper we develop two alternative fuzzy measures for MM. The first of them concerns an adaptation for use in a fuzzy environment of the well known Shannon’s formula for measuring a system’s probabilistic uncertainty. The second one is based on the idea of the center of mass of the represented a fuzzy set figure, that is commonly used in fuzzy logic approach to measure performance. The above (three in total) fuzzy measures for MM are compared to each other and a classroom experiment presented in our earlier paper is reconsidered here illustrating our results in practice.

Brain Tumor Segmentation using hybrid Genetic Algorithm and Artificial Neural Network Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS)

    Medical image segmentation plays an important role in treatment planning, identifying tumors, tumor volume, patient follow up and computer guided surgery. There are various techniques for medical image segmentation. This paper presents a image segmentation technique for locating brain tumor(Astrocytoma A type of brain tumor).Proposed work has been divided in two phases-In the first phase MRI image database(Astrocytom a grade I to IV) is collected and then preprocessing is done to improve quality of image. Second-phase includes three stepsFeature extraction, Feature selection and Image segmentation. For feature extraction proposed work uses GLCM (Grey Level co-occurrence matrix).To improve accuracy only a subset of feature is selected using hybrid Genetic algorithm(Genetic Algorithm+fuzzy rough set) and based on these features fuzzy rules and membership functions are defined for segmenting brain tumor from MRI images of .ANFIS is a adaptive network which combines benefits of both fuzzy and neural network, Finally, a comparative analysis is performed between ANFIS, neural network, Fuzzy ,FCM,K- NN,DWT+SOM,DWT+PCA+KN, Texture combined +ANN, Texture Combined+ SVM in terms of sensitivity, specificity ,accuracy.

FUZZY CONTROL OF A SERVOMECHANISM: PRACTICAL APPROACH USING MAMDANI AND TAKAGI- SUGENO CONTROLLERS

    ABSTRACT

    The main objective of this work is to propose two fuzzy controllers: one based on the Mamdani inference method and another controller based on the Takagi- Sugeno inference method, both will be designed for application in a position control system of a servomechanism. Some comparations between the method smentioned above will be made with regard to the performance of the system in order to identify the advantages of the Takagi- Sugeno method in relation to the Mamdani method in the presence of disturbances and nonlinearities of the system. Some results of simulation and practical application are presented and results obtained showed that controllers based on Takagi- Sugeno method is more efficient than controllers based on Mamdani method for this specific application.
